Passion is one of those intangible things that we all know when we feel it, yet isn’t always easy to describe. It’s not easy to teach someone how to be or become passionate. Becoming passionate is an individual journey and it comes more naturally to some than others.
It feels great to be around passionate people. We are drawn to them, they are magnetic! The energy is simply contagious and who doesn’t want to feel excitement and enthusiasm like someone who is passionate about who they are and what they do?
And that is why bringing passion to everything you do, especially your work and your marketing, energizes and motivates others. People are starving for that energy and will want to work with you, even if they can’t describe why. Passion is defined as a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something.
And yet so many of us struggle to obtain and keep our passion.
Passion is something we develop, not necessarily something we are born with. We have to find it for ourselves and the truth is, we don’t usually start off as experts at whatever it is. We get better because we keep at it. We make it fun.
Want to live a life of passion?
Stop waiting around for it to fall in your lap! Passion is cultivated and nurtured. Our guest on this week’s Fresh Tracks podcast, Carey Smolensky, helps folks find and achieve a life of passion. He shares his lifelong journey – which began as early as High School – and how it has manifested into the several businesses he owns today.
Passion begins with a mindset.
Your outlook on life can be one of boredom and not seeing opportunities around you, or fun and adventure around every corner. Do you spend your days doing things you love? Surrounded by people you love? If not, you need to make changes immediately.
Here are a few tips for gaining more passion in your life:
- Don’t assume that your passion should be your job.
- Don’t procrastinate on something you are passionate about because it doesn’t pay financially.
- Make decisions based on what will allow you to live your life more passionately.
- Be excited about your life and each day.
- Surround yourself with passionate people. Let go of those nay-sayers that drag you down!
As a business owner and marketer, it’s especially important you bring your passion to what you do because the feeling of it, the energy of it, shines through to your clients and prospects. It can’t not. And it is often times the key ingredient to success (in addition to a rocking marketing funnel!). Your passion and energy are contagious.
